Wilderness Camp

What Makes This Camp Special

Wilderness Camp is a unique opportunity for campers who enjoy the outdoors and are ready for a more rustic experience. Through tent camping, outdoor adventure, and shared challenges, campers build resilience, confidence, and deeper friendships.

It’s an experience that stretches them — physically and spiritually — in some of the most memorable ways. This camp makes The Wild Frontier feel Wild, in all the best ways, as campers learn what it looks like to follow Christ with courage out in the wilderness.”

The Experience

Wilderness Camps offer a true back-to-nature summer adventure. Campers live in platform tents, sleep on bunks inside their tents, and take all their meals outdoors in the Wilderness Village. Restrooms are provided via port-a-potties, and showers are available daily at the pool shower room.

Living in smaller communities than our other overnight campers allows for deeper friendships and greater spiritual growth. Campers experience high-adventure activities like tubing down Back Creek, the Giant Swing, Flying Squirrel, Zipline, Climbing Wall, and more. Chapel times take place right in the Wilderness Village, creating an intimate worship setting within their small groups. Evenings are spent around the campfire, sharing stories, reflecting on their day, and worshipping together.

Traverse Wilderness weeks are smaller in size and age range for those who want to ease the transition from elementary to junior high.

Trail Wilderness weeks, for high-schooler participants only, will include backpacking as well as sleeping in tents from Monday through Friday.

Some of the exciting things about Wilderness camp this summer include:

  • Remodeled wilderness camp with improved facilities.
  • Emphasis on building skills and connecting in nature.
  • Take an adventure trip each week!

Camper group photos will be made available for all Wilderness Camps and Traverse Wilderness Camps. Photos throughout the week will be posted on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
