Julie Bortner

Equipping Coordinator

Julie brings a lifelong passion for teaching and discipleship to her role as Equipping Coordinator at Joy El. After first becoming involved with Bible Adventure in 2011 as a listener, she later served as a School Coordinator before joining the ministry staff. Today, she loves helping schools establish Bible Adventure programs and seeing children hear about Jesus for the first time while growing in their understanding of God’s Word.

Julie earned her degree in Elementary Education from Messiah College and spent more than two decades teaching in Christian schools. She was born and raised in France as a missionary kid, but now resides in York with her husband, Ken, their two children, and their dog. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, lifting, camping, road trips with her sister, and spending time with her kids and dog. Isaiah 26:4 and Micah 6:8 have been an encouragement to her as she continues to trust in the Lord’s faithful guidance.
